Self-taught painter Andrea Nakhla resides in Los Angeles, California and had her first solo show this year at New Image Art. Her work examines the internal landscape of her subjects by capturing nuances, objects, and postures as they exist in their most intimate states: bedrooms, wrapped around lovers, with friends. Time plays a central role in her paintings as the act of painting itself serves as an homage to time and an attempt to understand it, hold onto it and keep it for a little longer.
